This weekend in worship we are blessed to hear a message from one or our pastors, Darryl Burton. Darryl, an innocent man, spent 24 years in prison and was exonerated in 2008. While in prison, he made a promise, “Jesus, if you’re real and help me get out of this place, not only will I serve you, but I’ll tell the world about you.” God delivered on that promise. Now a free man, Darryl has made it his life mission to teach the world about forgiveness and provide hope even in the most desperate situations.

I have had the privilege of serving with Darryl for more than nine years as a part of Resurrection. His grace, compassion and desire to serve others have transformed the lives of so many. I hope you will plan to join me this weekend (in person here in Leawood, as well as online) and invite your friends to hear his message of love and forgiveness.
